During the exercise, the various organizations train cooperation during a crisis situation.

This Thursday, June 8, from 12:00 to 17:00 there will be a major exercise at and in the immediate vicinity of Utrecht Central Station. The Defense Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EOD), together with the Dutch Railways, ProRail, the police, the Utrecht Security Region, the Public Prosecution Service and the municipality of Utrecht, will practice on the basis of various crisis situations. Some parts of the exercise will take place at the locations in and around the station, but the majority of the exercise will take place at the organizations involved themselves. Travelers, local residents and passers-by will be informed about this in advance and during the exercise and nuisance will be kept to a minimum. During the exercise, the various organizations train cooperation during a crisis situation.

NS staff is present for travelers who have difficulty walking, have a pram with them or use a wheelchair. NS staff will guide them to the lift.

The station hall is fully accessible, the central tunnel from the bicycle shed to the various platforms is partially closed. The Van Sijpesteijn tunnel is open as usual. For travelers who have to change platforms for a transfer, only platforms 1 to 4 are not accessible via the central tunnel, the other platforms are. Platforms 1 to 4 can be reached via the station hall. The elevator and escalator cannot be used that afternoon either. NS staff is present for travelers who have difficulty walking, have a pram with them or use a wheelchair. NS staff will guide them to the lift. From the large bicycle shed under the bulbous roof, you cannot go from the central tunnel to the large platforms and vice versa. The other entrances and exits of the bicycle shed are open, according to the NS.
