Innovation is no longer limited to product development. It must also be applied in the way one wants to offer products and how one wants to support the sector.

The Eindhoven software company Censys BV is taking a remarkable step in the digitization of the Dutch taxi sector. In preparation for the mandatory link to the Central Database Taxi (CDT) of the Dutch government, Censys BV will offer the Pitane Mobility software free of charge to entrepreneurs in the taxi sector for 90 days. After that period, the entrepreneur can still decide which solution he wishes to use.

The motive behind this initiative is to get freelancers and smaller taxi companies accustomed to the use of automation and to prepare all new developments for the replacement of the current on-board computer (BCT) as an ICT service provider. The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) is currently defining, testing and finally rolling out the CDT in the sector. They do this together with the various suppliers in the taxi sector.

This is an important development as it is intended to increase fair competition, quality for the customer and safety in the taxi sector. In the long term, there will no longer be any further need for a BCT in the taxi and this measure that the government is taking offers the possibility of using alternatives on the current on-board computers in the form of apps in the car, on the telephone or tablet.

gain experience

The prospect of this mandatory link means that taxi companies must embrace the possibilities of software and digitalisation. Censys BV recognizes that the use of software and automated systems is not obvious, especially for single-person companies, freelancers and small taxi companies. That is why the company has decided to offer their Pitane Mobility software for free for a period of 90 days. This enables entrepreneurs to gain experience with the use of software in their business operations free of charge. With this Censys BV wants to contribute to becoming familiar with the ICT possibilities in this sector.

In addition, the Pitane Mobility software offers a wide range of functions that can optimize the business operations of taxi companies. This allows taxi companies to improve their service and efficiency in addition to complying with the mandatory link to the CDT.

important step

This initiative by Censys BV is an important step towards the digitization of the Dutch taxi sector. It not only paves the way for the mandatory link to the CDT, but also contributes to confidence in and the use of ICT solutions within the sector. It is a win-win situation for both the taxi sector and the further development of innovative, customer-oriented solutions by software companies such as Censys BV.
