The acquisition concerns English dealer group Jacksons, active in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Isle of Wight.

After the recent announcement of the acquisition of the German dealer group Hugo Pfohe, a second acquisition for Van Mossel outside the Benelux follows. It concerns the multibrand dealer group Jacksons. The transaction has been submitted to the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority (JCRA) and is expected to close at the end of July.

With this acquisition Van Mossel acquires locations in the Channel Islands (Jersey 2 locations; Guernsey 2 locations), Isle of Man (1 location) and Isle of Wight (1 location). 8 of the 29 brands sold by Jacksons are new to Van Mossel's current portfolio, namely Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW passenger cars and motorcycles, Honda motorcycles, Lexus, MINI, Porsche and Toyota. With a turnover of €250M, Jacksons is one of the largest dealer groups across the North Sea. Van Mossel once again confirms the group's European ambitions.

“I am delighted to announce the agreement with Van Mossel. Negotiations have taken place over a considerable period of time and I am confident that their investment and expertise will further enhance our performance and service offering. Van Mossel is a leading automotive group in Europe and significantly strengthens our activities. I look forward to working with them to future-proof the business on the islands. All employees will be retained to promote the growth of this unique company. With Van Mossel's proven concept, we will also be able to offer our customers more and more services under one roof in the future. A win-win situation.”

Jacksons has grown in recent decades to become the largest multi-brand dealer group for Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Isle of Wight. It has a portfolio of 29 brands, which are located in both the volume segment and the premium and luxury segment. All locations offer sales, maintenance, damage repair and financing. Headquartered in Jersey, the company has 500 employees. The Jacksons, Motor Mall and Esplanade brands operate within the group.

“The acquisition of the Jacksons Group is a next step in the continuous evolution of the Van Mossel Automotive Group. Paul and the team have built a great business on the islands where they operate, and we believe that with more investment in facilities and product offerings we can further improve this, allowing island customers to take advantage of competitive offerings within the automotive sector.”

In 75 years Van Mossel Automotive Group has grown into the largest automotive company in the Benelux. There are 349 branches in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and Luxembourg.
