The best 40 drivers qualify for the semi-finals on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 September in Nijkerk.

The NK Safest Driver 2023 has recently officially started. Truck drivers can register for the competition and get started online right away. During the NK Safest Driver, truck drivers compete against each other in different ways. The NK starts with an online phase including knowledge questions. The best 40 drivers qualify for the semi-finals on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 September in Nijkerk. 16 drivers eventually qualify for the grand final of the TVM Awards at the TT Circuit in Assen on Saturday 30 September.

More about the TVM Awards

The TVM Awards is the name of a social initiative to improve transport and road safety by TVM insurance and a select group of involved partners. The partners are: Volvo Trucks Netherlands, Van Eijck Group, Continental Benelux, Veilig Verkeer Nederland, Sectorinstituut Transport en Logistiek, Bumper, JobTrans, EyeWish and ANWB. The primary objective of the TVM Awards is to create more awareness – among all road users – for safe driving behaviour. In addition, TVM and the partners want to make a positive contribution to the profession of professional driver and to the image of the logistics and transport sector.

In addition to the NK Safest Driver, the TVM Awards consist of the TVM Award Knight, CSR, Innovation, Performance in the sector, Safe transport and Sustainability. These prizes, just like the NK Safest Driver, will be awarded during the final day on 30 September.  

Hélène Hendrik's ambassador

TV personality Hélène Hendriks has been an ambassador from the start TVM Awards connected. She will be present during the finals. On September 30, she will present the final day and award all prizes. In addition to the sporting honour, the winner of the NK Safest Driver naturally wins the TVM Award. The entire top 16 also wins a visit to the Volvo factory, the Volvo Trucks demo center and the Volvo Museum in Gothenburg, Sweden.
