Until mid-April he worked at Trevvel in Rotterdam, a conscious decision to say goodbye to them.

A transport man in heart and soul, as Besseling calls himself with more than 30 years of knowledge and experience within the industry. His ambition lies in transport, in particular passenger transport, and Edwin Besseling will start at Munckhof Groep on 1 May as Senior Manager Implementation, responsible for the national implementation organization of taxi and coach transport services for, among others, the care, education and recreational sectors. sector.

State of service

For Besseling, there has always been a time to come and a time to go in recent years. A few years ago, things changed for him after, in his own words, he had had an instructive time at Connexxion. He was allowed to contribute to the use of Cleaner Student Transport for Connexxion Taxi Services. Besseling started working for MRC Nederland where he was very happy to implement the student transport in the Drechtsteden region.

"I look back with pleasure on my time at Trevvel, gained valuable experiences, had meaningful contacts with clients and above all I am proud of the commitment and involvement of colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers."

In the meantime, he started working on the tenders for target group transport WMO Amstelveen and Aalsmeer, where he took care of the implementation for the Maasstad Regie Centrale. Almost immediately during the implementation, he was hijacked by the Rotterdam carrier Trevvel, where he worked until Friday, April 14, 2023. According to him, “a conscious choice to say goodbye to them”, because as it turns out, he will start on May 1 with a great next challenge at the Munckhof Group.

bus transportation

As the son of Martien Besseling, transport is also in his genes. His father was also in transport and there was a transport solution for every assignment, from transporting packages to double-decker buses full of passengers. Besseling's path has not been a bed of roses in recent years. The family business, which was founded on October 17, 1985 by Martien and Lia Besseling, went bankrupt in 2018. After the collapse of the Bestax taxi arm, the curtain also fell for the coach and courier division and the maintenance branch of the long-leading transport company in the region. Pouw Vervoer from Vianen incorporated the coach company that started operating independently as Besseling Travel.

I'm not sitting still, new projects are in the planning.

Amersfoort is known for its innovative and inspiring entrepreneurs, but volunteer work has also been close to Edwin's heart for years. He is also a member of the Advisory Board for Transport Gooi en Vechtstreek, the first municipal organization in the Netherlands to organize and carry out target group transport for residents who are no longer able to travel independently. The advisory council provides the board with solicited and unsolicited advice. He is also Vice-President of the District of Utrecht Safe Traffic in the Netherlands, where his activities include coordination with district administration, national administration and local administration.
