Because the A12 will remain busy in the future, cycling instead of going to work by car is a good solution.

The A12 motorway runs from The Hague to Zevenaar and connects the Randstad via Gouda, Utrecht and Arnhem with the Ruhr area in Germany. The A12 is the oldest and one of the busiest highways in our country. The A12 is also called the Rainbow Route. This name comes from the different landscape types that the A12 crosses: forest, city, meadow and mosaic areas. To improve the accessibility and flow of the A12, Rijkswaterstaat is involved in maintenance and construction here on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the work on this busy highway is causing traffic disruption. Because the A12 will remain busy in the future, cycling instead of going to work by car is a good solution. To stimulate this, A12 Slim Reizen is organizing the free BicycleChallengeA15 15 from April 12 to October 2023. You can decide to participate at any time between April 15 and October 15 and you will reach 5 goals right away. You help reduce traffic jams, you work on your health, you save gas, you can win prizes and you can contribute to a charity of your choice.

“Participating in the promotion gives the participants at least 5 times profit. In addition to the contribution to reducing traffic, the FietsChallenge is above all a lot of fun. By cycling you not only add extra exercise to your day. It's also an environmentally friendly and inexpensive way to commute to work. Moreover, with your participation you support charities in the region. New in 2023 is that participants can win monthly prizes. 'That is why we are taking a bigger approach to the recruitment campaign this year in order to reach even more people and get them on their bicycles'.
