Do you want to buy or (financially) lease a new completely zero-emission truck for your company? Or if you have a leasing company that rents out trucks, you can apply for the Purchase subsidy scheme for emission-free trucks (AanZET).

Soon it will be possible again, entrepreneurs can apply for a subsidy from Tuesday 4 April 2023 for the purchase of an emission-free truck. The Purchase Subsidy Scheme Zero-Emission Trucks (AanZET) will then reopen. The budget for this year is €30.000.000. This subsidy scheme was also available last year, the budget was used up within a day, so if you want to be eligible for this, you will have to act quickly.

Do you want to buy or (financially) lease a new completely zero-emission truck for your company? Or if you have a leasing company that rents out trucks, you can apply for the Purchase subsidy scheme for emission-free trucks (AanZET). The AanZET subsidy scheme makes it more attractive for entrepreneurs to invest in clean trucks. The subsidy reduces the price difference between a 'classic' diesel truck and a clean zero-emission (completely emission-free) truck.

The subsidy is intended as an incentive not to opt for an 'ordinary diesel truck', but for a clean, emission-free truck with battery-electric or hydrogen-electric propulsion. A subsidy can be applied for for the purchase of one or more trucks (maximum 20). You can receive a percentage of the purchase price as a subsidy. That percentage depends on the type of truck and the size of your company. When it comes to leasing, the leasing company must apply for the subsidy.

You must comply with these, among others conditions To be eligible for the grant:

  • The truck must be new.
  • The truck must be vehicle class N3 or N2 and weigh at least 4.250 kilograms.
  • The truck is electrically powered.
  • Fuel codes E and W are eligible.
  • The battery must not contain lead.

Soon it will be possible again, entrepreneurs can apply for a subsidy from Tuesday 4 April 2023 for the purchase of an emission-free truck.

From 9 May, construction companies can make use of the Clean and Emission-free Building Equipment Subsidy Scheme (SSEB). With this subsidy scheme you can buy emission-free construction machines as a construction company or company that rents out building materials. Construction machines are understood to mean: construction equipment, construction vehicles and auxiliary functions.

You must comply with these, among others conditions To be eligible for the grant:

  • The construction machine must be new and emission-free.
  • The construction machine must be listed in the SSEB Purchase List of construction machines under part A, B or C (with a J in the relevant column) in order to be eligible for a subsidy.
  • A construction vehicle must have the vehicle qualification N2 or N3 (according to the RDW vehicle registration register) and the body code 9, 10, 15, 16, 26, 27 and 28 or the designation for special purposes SF. Does the construction vehicle have vehicle category N2? Then an application is only possible with a weight from 4.250 kg.
  • The electric drive motor with a fuel cell or a lead-free battery pack for driving a superstructure (auxiliary function) is only eligible if the auxiliary function is placed on a truck with at least environmental class Euro VI. The auxiliary function must also automatically switch off the combustion engine when the electric motor of the auxiliary function is used. The battery pack must be rechargeable with a plug.
  • The construction machine is intended (and is used at least 70% of the time) for carrying out construction work in the open air and in the Netherlands.
  • The construction machine – if electrically driven – has a continuous electrical power of 8 kilowatts or higher.
  • The battery pack does not contain lead.

This year's budget is €36.000.000.
