The mini-roadshow will inform young people about safe and unsafe driving behaviour.

Action must be taken to make traffic in our country safer. We read earlier that the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and the CBR will be introducing two new educational measures from 1 April 2023: a 'course on drugs and traffic' and a 'short course on behavior and traffic'. The short course of behavior and traffic (LEMG) is imposed on drivers who have committed a serious speeding offence. This concerns a speed violation from 50 km/h to 60 km/h (both inside and outside built-up areas), 30 km/h to 60 km/h with a moped, agricultural tractor and 30 km/h to 60 km/h during roadworks.

The course Drugs and traffic (EMD) is imposed on drivers who have been stopped under the influence of drugs. Participants of these courses learn to participate in traffic in a safe manner. These courses are intended to make traffic offenders aware of their dangerous behavior so that they can make choices in the future that are better for the road safety of themselves and others on the road. If the courses are imposed, this will be in addition to the fine and the possible confiscation of the offenders' driving license by the police.
