"We are very grateful to Wouter for his years of dedication to ProRail", writes Birgit Otto COO at ProRail.

ProRail has found a new Director of Stations in Karen te Boome. But first she will perform an interim task. Director of Asset Management Wouter van Dijk leaves ProRail after 6,5 years. The position of director of AM is temporarily filled by Te Boome and director of Capacity Management Bas Bakker.

“After six and a half years on the board, I decided for myself to leave our organization. I have worked here with incredible pleasure and have never seen so many committed colleagues. I will miss that enormously, but it is time for something new for me.”

Van Dijk started at ProRail in August 2016 as director of Transport & Timetable, the current Capacity Management. He has been director of Asset Management (AM) since February 2019. COO Birgit Otto expresses her gratitude to Van Dijk on behalf of the Executive Board: “We are very grateful to Wouter for his many years of dedication to ProRail and appreciate that we have jointly come to the conclusion that a new phase is dawning for Asset Management, with which Wouter room for his successor.”

temporary directors and Director Stations

Until the new AM director starts at ProRail, LJV (Environment, Legal Affairs and Real Estate) director Karen te Boome (from 20 March) and Capacity Management director Bas Bakker (from 1 May) will temporarily take over the position of AM director. Te Boome takes care of the day-to-day operations from AM, Bas Bakker is temporarily responsible for the field of 'technique and development'.

As soon as the new director of Asset Management starts, Karen te Boome will become the new director of Stations. Te Boome has been working for ProRail since July 2010. She started as department manager Conditioning and Environmental Management Project Leaders. She was also department manager Environment and Sustainability for three years until she started as director of LJV in 2018.

fundamental improvement

Riet Schroven, director of Projects: “I am extremely happy that Karen will soon be our new director of Stations. Her predecessor Astrid Bunt and the entire Stations department have put Stations on the map for more than five years, fundamentally improved cooperation with NS stations and, together with them, boosted passenger satisfaction year after year. We want to continue that. And that will work out well with Karen.”

Wim Gideonse will remain interim director of Stations until Te Boome takes over as director. Te Boome himself: “I am really looking forward to my start at the Stations department. The conversations I've had give me a lot of energy to get started there. Before I start there I will start working at AM. A big challenge awaits me there, which I am happy to take on. That does mean that I will now, with pain in my heart, leave LJV.”
