Brussels Airlines is preparing to fly almost 270.000 passengers to their destination during the end-of-year holidays. The airline reports an overall year-over-year increase in its bookings of 28%. For passengers starting their journey in Brussels, New York is the most popular intercontinental destination and Malaga is the European one. The day before the official start of the holiday, December 23, is the busiest departure day, followed closely by December 26.

Brussels Airlines is preparing for a vibrant end-of-year period. Between December 24 and January 8, almost 270.000 passengers (all data and figures used reflect the information available on Sunday, December 11, 2022) will fly around the world with the national airline. Friday 23 December is the most popular departure day – with more than 20.000 passengers – closely followed by Monday 26 December.

This is an overall increase of 28% compared to last year. Long-haul bookings rose by 31% and medium-haul by 27%. For journeys starting in Brussels and for long-haul destinations, flights to New York, Dakar and Kinshasa have the most passengers on board. Malaga, Tenerife and Rome are the most popular European cities to fly to during the Christmas holidays, according to the Belgian airline
