Rijkswaterstaat called on road users on Sunday evening not to go on the road because of black ice. The National Police Unit said that emergency services reported several incidents on the road due to slipperiness.

Rijkswaterstaat sprinkled about 3,5 million kilos of salt on the roads on Sunday in the middle of the evening because of the declared code orange due to the slipperiness. The incidents reported included single-vehicle crashes not involving any other vehicle, as well as rear-end collisions.

last winter day

For now, the last day of winter is behind us. Monday will start wet, but temperatures will continue to rise in the morning to around 7 degrees. During the day it will become drier and it can reach 10 degrees. Tuesday we will see temperatures up to 12 degrees. It is often cloudy and from time to time it rains. The moderate to fairly strong southwest wind completes the changeable picture.

According to Weeronline.nl, the second half of the week will provide a southwesterly flow and we will see areas of rain with occasional space for the sun in between. Temperatures remain on the high side with even peaks of 13 degrees in the south. Even during the nights, the mercury remains well above freezing point and slipperiness is not an issue.
