Pitane Image

Tesla investors are concerned about his ability to focus on his role as CEO of the world's most valuable automaker.

The image of the car brand is closely intertwined with that of its boss. By denouncing ruthless management methods, the latter now brings him anti-advertising. According to Mike Blake of the Reuters news agency the brutality of the decisions taken on Twitter in recent weeks is causing the leader's rating to fall and he is pulling his brand's image in the same movement.

Orders and counter-orders, explicit dismissal of half of the staff, an ultimatum to whoever remains and the firing of employees who dare to express internal criticism In short, the Elon Musk takeover turns day after day into an inventory of the worst management mistakes on Twitter. But if this chaos mortgages the blue bird's future, it also hurts Elon Musk's greatest success, Tesla.

The electric car maker's share price began to suffer when its boss began announcing last April that he wanted to take over Twitter. Investors' fears were twofold: they feared that SpaceX owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk would spend less time with Tesla, and that he would sell stock to fund the Twitter acquisition - which could again reduce his involvement.

Shares of Tesla are down 50% since early April. “Tesla investors will be frustrated,” said Gene Munster, managing partner at venture capital firm Loup Ventures. “He will probably spend more time on Twitter, which feels uncomfortable for Tesla investors.”

Vox populi, vox Dei the voice of the people is the voice of God.

Elon Musk kicked off a Twitter poll late Friday asking followers to vote on whether or not to restore former US President Donald Trump's account to the platform. Initial results showed that about 60% voted yes. “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” Musk tweeted, a Latin phrase meaning “the voice of the people is the voice of God.” The poll was open for 24 hours.

Musk's decision to ask Twitter users for advice on who should be on the platform is part of a massive restructuring of the company, including mass layoffs. Musk said earlier in the day that no decision had yet been made to bring Trump's account back and that Twitter had reinstated a number of controversial accounts that had been banned or suspended, including satirical website Babylon Bee and comedian Kathy Griffin.
