Nevertheless, a lease car is generally less self-evident for employees.

Of the ten most frequently chosen commercial vehicles this year, nine are equipped with a plug. This is evident from figures from the leasing company Arval BNP Paribas. In these expensive times, electric driving is often an advantage. The only petrol car in the list is the Volkswagen Golf and is in a solid second place in the top ten. According to the leasing company, it is also the only 'low' car because the rest are cars in the SUV category. Seven of the cars in the list are even fully electric.

Employers are obliged to install 10 charging station for every 1 parking spaces, but many EV drivers meanwhile charge at home. Charging your EV is currently still considerably cheaper than refueling. Nevertheless, we see that the prices for charging are also slowly rising. Charging at home is a solution for many EV drivers. You have a guarantee on a spot and you do not have to deal with start-up costs or fines that you receive if you leave your car at the charging station longer than necessary. What you should pay attention to is the energy rate and how this is settled if you have a charge card through your employer.

If you put your car at the charging station at home, you pay the costs of this to your energy supplier. The charging station provider then sees how much you have charged and settles this with the energy tariff they have registered for you. You will receive this amount back once a month. If your energy rate has changed, this will not be automatically adjusted in the system at the charge card provider. As a result, you may receive less money back at the end of the month than you pay your energy supplier. That is why it is extremely important that your charging station provider has registered the correct energy rate.

mobility card

Nevertheless, a lease car is generally less self-evident for employees, but a mobility scheme with, for example, an e-bike, use of shared cars or mobility card all the more so. Where previously some of the employees received a mobility scheme, such as a lease budget, the focus has shifted to offering mobility solutions for all employees within the organisation.
