De Lijn wants to be an important partner in making mobility in Flanders more sustainable.

Tomorrowland, Graspop, Rock Werchter, Paradise City Festival, Pukkelpop or Pennenzakrock, after two years of coronavirus, it is finally all possible again. Summer is just around the corner, and so the summer festivals and events are getting ready to welcome crowds again. Of course, De Lijn is there to bring all those festival-goers, revelers and music lovers safely and smoothly to their destination. A lot of extra buses and night buses are provided for this. Incidentally, De Lijn is also introducing an unusual means of transport this year: carts.

As is customary, De Lijn is once again making every effort to ensure that the many visitors are taken to their party destination without any problems and that they are assured of transport home afterwards. By opting for public transport, people are also moving towards less CO2† De Lijn wants to be an important partner in making mobility in Flanders more sustainable. After all, public transport can make an important contribution to limiting CO2emissions.

“De Lijn provides extra transport for a large number of events. This varies from extra buses to night buses. This way visitors are assured of a smooth connection without parking stress. De Lijn is deploying no fewer than 89 extra buses for Tomorrowland. Traveling with the festival shuttle is included in the entrance ticket.”

Significant extra bus offer is also provided for other events such as Pennen Bags Rock, Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter, TW Classic and Paradise City Festival.

On Saturday 25 June, De Lijn will deploy shuttle buses from Leuven Station between 10 a.m. and 2 a.m. to take festival-goers to the TW Classic festival site. For this, a special day ticket (7,50€) can be purchased in advance via the app, website or via SMS (send 'DLD' to 4884). The Train ticket TW Classic is also valid for travel with the shuttle buses. Other tickets are not valid.

For Rock Werchter, in addition to the connection to the train stations, there is even a shuttle bus provided between Parking C16 Hoevestraat to the festival site and the campsite. Folding bicycles or folding scooters are not allowed on the buses.

By the way, those who have to go to the campsite don't have to worry about how to get all those camping gear there either. After all, De Lijn provides real carts for various festivals. They are light, easy to handle, and are perfect for transporting tents, sleeping bags and all kinds of other camping equipment to the camping site without effort. It is the first time that De Lijn has launched bollard carts. The carts can be used free of charge. They can be found at Rock Werchter, Paradise City and Pukkelpop, at the De Lijn stand near the bus stop.

De Lijn has news for those who want to go to a festival, but have no longer been able to get a ticket. With a bit of luck you can still decorate a ticket for your favorite festival or event on the De Lijn website. Numerous tickets are being given away via www.delijn.be/festivals.
