A city trip by train is an experience, the journey itself is already part of the holiday.

TUI Netherlands signs an agreement with GreenCityTrip to broaden the range of city trips by train. The young company GreenCityTrip offers train travel to various cities in Europe. TUI will offer transport by night train to six European cities. The travel organization sees the train as a very valuable and sustainable addition to the transport choices that a traveler has.

From 25 May, TUI city travelers can take the GreenCityTrip train to six cities in Europe; Copenhagen, Prague, Vienna, Venice, Milan and Florence. It is a night train with sleeping places. The trains depart from the Netherlands between 16:30 and 20:00 and arrive at their destination the next morning between 08:00 and 11:00. You can board at Utrecht Central or Amsterdam Central and there is a choice of various classes in comfort.

Arjan Kers, General Manager TUI Netherlands: “Where the train can be an equivalent replacement for the airplane, we like to put this in the spotlight. And even where it is not a replacement but a valuable addition, we want to draw attention to it. More sustainable travel also means that you have to offer your customers different transport options. And trains are definitely part of that. We are happy to collaborate with these enthusiastic young entrepreneurs. We consider it an enrichment of our offer and can thus contribute to more conscious travel choices.”

Hessel Winkelman and Maarten Bastian of GreenCityTrip: “A city trip by train is an experience, the journey itself is already part of the holiday. We are pleased that, in collaboration with TUI, we can now reach an even larger target group with this range of more sustainable travel.”

These train journeys can be booked from 11 May through all TUI sales channels; both online, through the TUI travel shops, the independent travel advisors and the ANVR travel agencies. This train journey has several advantages: you are not tied to your small hand luggage suitcase, but you can choose which luggage you carry with you. You sleep during the trip and arrive rested; the city trip already starts at the station of departure, you spend the first night on the train in your sleeping compartment with (fold-out) beds. And you travel to your holiday address in a sustainable way. A TUI city trip with the GreenCityTrip train has a duration of 5 days and 4 nights. The first and last night are spent in the train.
