The municipality of Amsterdam has opened two new mobility hubs in collaboration with Hely and ParkBee. In a mobility hub, residents and visitors of Amsterdam can reserve and use various electric vehicles. Because public space in Amsterdam is scarce, these hubs will be placed on existing parking lots at the Student Hotel in East and the Fashion Hotel in Nieuw-West. Depending on the trip you are going to make, you can choose a vehicle that suits your needs.

Electric vehicle range

The hub in Nieuw-West offers 4 e-bikes, 2 cars and 1 cargo bike. As a visitor you can, for example, park your car at the Fashion Hotel and travel further to the center by e-bike. But also as a resident, thanks to a hub, you have the option of using clean means of transport without having to purchase them yourself. In the hub in East you will find 4 e-bikes and 2 cars. Renting the vehicles is easy via the Hely app and is possible from €1,50 per hour. At the end of each ride, return the vehicle to the hub.

Sustainable city

Mobility hubs are initially temporary to investigate whether they can make a positive contribution to the accessibility and liveability of the city. For example, we are investigating whether mobility hubs reduce the pressure in public space because people have a good alternative to their own car at their disposal. It project receives funding from the European EIT Urban Mobility programme.
