Mobility service provider DKV is now offering a transnational box with which tolls can also be paid in Italy. DKV is the first certified non-Italian provider of an EETS-qualified toll box for that country. After a successful test phase, the Italian toll operators have released the DKV Box Europe for settlement of road tolls for trucks and buses from 3,5 tonnes.

According to the trade magazine Magazine Passenger Transport the total toll system of the Italian association of toll operators AISCAT covers a length of approximately 6.600 km. In addition to Italy, the DKV Box Europe can also be used to settle truck tolls in Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Austria, Spain, Portugal and Hungary, including the Warnow, Herren and Liefkenshoek tunnel, which amounts to twelve European toll systems. At the beginning of February this year, the DKV Box Italia was already exclusively licensed for Italy.

“Italy is a hugely important transit country for north-south transport. We are therefore very pleased that we, as the first provider, can now also offer our internationally driving customers a suitable toll solution for Italy. ”

Thanks to the specially marked lanes, the driver knows exactly where to use his DKV Box Europe. In the near future, the interoperable DKV Box Europe will also be able to be used in Switzerland and other European countries.
