After two years, Clemenceau metro station has been renovated today. Time for a look at the improvements in this station and a brief overview of other renovation works currently underway. € 7,5 million has been earmarked for the complete renovation of Clemenceau metro station. Brussels Mobility provided a new footbridge, so that the platform can be reached by lift. Two new lifts were installed at the entrance that gives onto the Steenweg in Bergen.

The counter hall was also renovated, passenger flows were optimized and the station was made more visible by increasing the access in Kliniekstraat. There were also two new escalators. The new, energy-efficient LED lighting gives the station a safer and more pleasant appearance. For the architectural concept of this renovation project, Cirelli Fransceso sought a connection with the existing architecture and the artwork Walk by Joseph WIllaert by repeating the color palette in the tiles of the mezzanines and the asymmetrical, curved structure of the new kiosk in Kliniekstraat.

Elke Van den Brandt, Minister of Mobility and Public Works: "Getting on or off the metro in the heart of Cureghem is easier, safer and more beautiful. The adjustments to Clemenceau are part of a series of metro station renovations, which will continue to make public transport in our city more accessible and attractive."

Other stations are also being renovated or made more accessible now or soon.

In Park metro station 14 million works are carried out. These include the installation of an elevator that connects the street level to level -1 at the existing entrance and the construction of an emergency exit in the Royal Park. The station itself will have 3 lifts connecting the different levels, the floor, wall and ceiling covering will be renewed, a work of art by the photographer Marie-Françoise Plissart will be installed and the lighting will be renewed. Finally, a new entrance will be set up in the Warandeberg.

This will make this metro station, which is directly connected to the NMBS station, more pleasant.
