Due to the outbreak of the corona virus, some professional drivers are now unable to follow further training. As a result, it may happen that the certificate of professional competence (code 95) expires, through no fault of the drivers. For all professional drivers whose code 95 expires in the period between December 1, 2020 and March 1, 2021, it remains valid until March 1. Until then, these drivers are allowed to continue driving with the expired code 95 on their driving license. The minister has decided this pending a new extension of one European regulation May 26, 2020 and a extension of 25 August 2020. The ILT will coordinate the amended enforcement with the police, which also checks for code 95.
The training may also be postponed for future drivers who are in training for the basic qualification. These drivers do not yet have a certificate of professional competence. Transport without code 95 on their driving license is not permitted for them. All truck and bus drivers using their driver's license for their profession must have a certificate of professional competence. They must obtain a basic qualification for this. Receive as a sign of professional competence professional drivers code 95 on their driving license.
Code 95 is an indication on the driving license, which is placed after a vehicle category. This code is mandatory for professional driving of a vehicle for which driving license C1 (E), C (E), D1 (E) or D (E) is required. The code is valid for five years and can be extended by attending in-service training. To get your code 95, you must complete 35 hours of in-service training.
