Since the strict Lock Down in force last week, all unnecessary shops have been closed. The only ones open are the necessary shops. This includes:

  • locations for business and financial services;
  • Food shops (food and drink);
  • commodity markets for foodstuffs;
  • pharmacies;
  • drugstores;
  • pet stores;
  • hearing care professionals and opticians;
  • petrol stations;
  • shops for care and welfare aids;
  • laundries and dry cleaners;
  • wholesalers (business to business);
  • shops outside for Christmas tree and flower sales.

These measures ensure that more and more stores that are closed will come up with ways to still generate sales. For example, they deliver themselves to people's homes. The crowds at the parcel and postal delivery services are enormous and this can mean that mail and packages are delivered later than intended. Block recently announced that they deliver a parcel to the customer's home within one to three working days, using Blokker Express service. Blokker employees are deployed for this. Of course they do have a delivery area, outside this area the order will be delivered via PostNL.

The Intertoys has also set up a local delivery service. The employees from the stores come within a radius of 3 kilometersr by bicycle, car and even on foot deliver the parcels at home. ICI PARIS XL has started the Click and Deliver until December 23, their Beauty Advisors will deliver the package to your home at the latest the next day. The shop must be within a radius of 25 km from the delivery address. For example, restaurants and eateries have been delivering to people's homes for much longer, in this way some turnover still comes in at the companies.
