Eindhoven Airport will be easily accessible again from Monday 9 November. A lot of work is currently underway in Eindhoven Northwest. This is done to significantly improve the traffic flow and accessibility of the Anthony Fokkerweg, Eindhoven Airport, Flight Forum and Brainport Industries Campus, among others. The work is now nearing its end. To this end, the Anthony Fokkerweg viaduct over the A2 / N2 had to be completely closed last week.

However, this did not result in major traffic congestion in the past week. Workers from home and considerably less air traffic contributed to the Oirschotsedijk remaining accessible and the long-lasting traffic jams of airport traffic and destination traffic by trucks. During the first phase, the viaduct was given a new lane layout and the cycle path was removed. Through the opening of the brand new bicycle bridge this had become redundant. During the second phase in the weekend, the intersection on the Eindhoven Noord / GDC side will be redesigned and paved. New traffic lights will also be installed.

Work is currently underway on extending the Spottersweg. This will be extended up to the Erica in Oirschot. Since 17 August, the Spottersweg has been closed, between the Landsardseweg and the Luchthavenweg. That too lasts until November 9. On 9 November, the Anthony Fokkerweg viaduct will be passable again from 05.00 a.m. and all diversions have been lifted.

From November 9, 2020, the Oirschotsedijk-Spottersweg intersection will be permanently closed to motorized traffic. Becomes built on a new bicycle and pedestrian bridge, which will be located over the extended Spottersweg. During the construction of this bridge, motorized traffic to and from Oirschot will be diverted via a temporary road to Spottersweg and Landsard. Bicycle traffic remains possible in all directions during the work. For the safety of cyclists, temporary traffic lights are placed at the Spottersweg-Luchthavenweg-Landsard intersection.
