The Christmas holiday looks different this year than we are used to, we certainly cannot go on holiday. (With the exception of the Caribbean if this code is yellow) It remains to be seen whether we can celebrate Christmas with family or whether corona will throw a spanner in the works. After the announcement that we will no longer be allowed to go on vacation until mid-January from the cabinet during the press conference, we can still go to the Caribbean on vacation if they are on code yellow.

The Caribbean includes the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten and the 3 public entities Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. The Caribbean is not a foreign country. We are therefore not allowed to go on holiday to other countries where code yellow applies, such as Sweden, Greece or the Canary Islands.

We are only allowed to go abroad if it is really necessary. Holiday travel or family visits are therefore not included. Aruba, Sint Maarten and Saba are currently still on code orange, so unnecessary travel is not recommended. Bonaire and Curaçao are currently on code yellow, so you can go there. Since the announcement that we are not allowed on vacation, with the exception of the Caribbean, there has been a run on trips to Curaçao.

If you are going to Curaçao you must fill in a “Public Health Passenger Locator Card” and immigration card on the website prior to the trip. www.gobiernu.cw. You must also be able to present a negative result of a COVID-19 PCR test that is no later than 72 hours old upon arrival. You are also not allowed to travel to Curaçao if you have been in an area with widespread transmission of the COVID-14 virus 19 days prior to the trip.
