There is a lot to say about electric driving and charging. Electric driving is cheaper than driving on fossil fuel. You drive road tax free, the maintenance costs are much lower and charging a car is cheaper than refueling. In addition, you also do not pay BPM when purchasing an electric car, because it does not emit CO2. Charging an electric car is also much cheaper than refueling.

Although the costs for charging an electric car vary by model, electric charging is cheaper than you think. If you assume an amount of € 0,21 per kWh, the battery of, for example, the Hyundai IONIQ Electric already fully charged for less than € 10. Charging an electric car is cheaper than refueling, but what exactly are the costs? That depends on the electric model you drive and where you charge. Charging at home costs an average of € 0,21 per kWh.

The maintenance of an electric car is also cheaper, because this car contains fewer parts that need to be replaced periodically. The maintenance of an electric car therefore usually amounts to only one third of the maintenance costs of a fuel car. Driving an electric car therefore has a lot of financial benefits.

The prices for charging your electric car at a public charging point differ. As with fuel filling stations, prices vary per provider. The average costs are € 0,33 per kWh. For fast charging stations, these costs also vary. Some charging stations and fast charging stations charge a starting rate for the costs per charging session. And sometimes it happens that you charge a fast charging session per minute instead of per kWh.
