In times of the corona crisis, there were almost no scheduled flights to and from Eindhoven Airport. What flew daily could be counted on one hand. Various media reports show that in May this year there were 178 flights to Eindhoven Airport. And in the month of April this year there were 148 flights. In May 2019, this was 4000 flights.

The occupancy rate of the number of aircraft seats in January and February 2020 compared to January and February 2019 is almost the same. This emerged from research by the CBS. In March 2020, the occupancy rate of the number of aircraft seats clearly decreased compared to March 2019, the occupancy rate in March 2019 was 80,4 percent and in March 2020 it was 56,5 percent. In April, the occupancy rate of aircraft seats reached a low point, in April 2019 the occupancy rate was 82,4 percent and in April 2020 it was 29 percent. So it's a huge difference from last year, and the question is how long it will be before we have these numbers again.

The corona measures are relaxed in most countries, but there are also many countries where the corona virus is still around. Airline Wizz Air was still active at this airport during this Lock Down. Private planes also regularly departed and landed at Eindhoven during the Lock Down.

Fortunately, these annoying times are now behind us and Eindhoven Airport is slowly starting to pick up again. The number of flights to and from Eindhoven has increased again since May. As of Thursday, it is expected that about forty flights a day will depart from this airport. They hope to expand the number of flights even further in August. Eindhoven Airport is mainly used by airlines such as Transavia, Ryan Air and Wizz Air. Airline Ryan Air announced earlier this week that they will also fly biweekly from Eindhoven to Cyprus Paphos from August 1. Wizz Air announced last week that they will also fly from Eindhoven to Cyprus Larnaca three times a week from XNUMX August.
