Both arch bridges must be reinforced to prevent damage to the steel construction of the bridges and to be able to use the bridges safely in the future. The valves and the movement work of the eastern Van Brienenoord bridge must also be replaced. Finally, a new system for the operation and control of both bridges must be installed.
