Slovakia is almost at the top of the list of the safest holiday countries. The government took strict measures early on to keep the outbreak at a minimum. Next night, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary will reopen their borders. The Hungarian Foreign Minister announced this today.

ultimate countryside

For Yvon and Sabine, originally from Lisse, who left the Netherlands two years ago and together in beautiful Slovakia Holiday farm Natural Slovakia opening the borders is very good news. Their second season had already started but unfortunately without guests. The reservations have been standing still since the end of February, the booking calendar shows cancellations and the bottom of the bank account is in sight.

The ladies will be happy to welcome you in Modrý Kameň, the smallest town in Slovakia with 1526 inhabitants and an area of 1960 km2. The Slovak municipality is located in the Banská Bystrica region, and is part of the Veľký Krtíš district.

The holiday farm is located at an altitude of 240 meters and located outside the village, which provides the ultimate countryside feeling. For daily shopping you can go to the village shop (about five minutes by car or walk through it, about thirty minutes). The large supermarkets, including Lidl and Kaufland and the DM drugstore can be found in the nearby town of Veľký Krtíš (5 km).

strict conditions

The borders were closed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. A strict condition is attached to the reopening. Travelers are not allowed to cross a country twice in a short time. So a Hungarian may travel to the Czech Republic via Slovakia, but may not cross Slovakia again on the way back. The person must therefore detour via Austria. Residents of the countries do not have to be quarantined if the stay in the other country lasts less than 48 hours.
