The German-British travel group TUI Group announces that due to the consequences of the corona crisis, it will cut 8000 jobs worldwide, in order to reduce fixed costs. The company aims for a permanent reduction of thirty percent of the fixed costs for the entire group. Travel organization TUI and KRAS previously canceled all trips until June 18, initially this would be until May 28. 

So this is 3 weeks longer than it would initially be. The booked holidays for the Netherlands from May 29 will continue. Travelers whose holidays have been canceled are eligible for a voucher. This voucher is valid for one year from the time of issue and is worth the amount paid. There are no international holidays with travel organization TUI and Kras until June 18, in consultation with sector organization ANVR. .

“We don't want to put the date too far forward either. Because when it becomes possible to start up - in whole or in part - we also want to offer our travelers that opportunity, ”said a spokesperson

Travel agency Sunweb and Transavia have so far canceled all their flights until May 27, they have not yet adjusted anything to this policy. Travel agency Corendon has so far canceled all their flights until June 25. According to TUI, it would be nice if all travel organizations in the Netherlands have the same start dates. Indeed, it is confusing for the travelers when various start dates are maintained.

Travel agency Corendon wants to test passengers for corona antibodies before they can board the plane. They will post more information about traveler testing on their website from Wednesday 13 May. The website is called corendonsneltest.nl. On this website you can make an appointment for the test and here the traveler can also find all kinds of information. The cost of the test is € 69 per person. Travelers can have themselves tested for corona antibodies in Amsterdam by means of a simple finger prick.
