Elon Musk, the big boss behind the American Tesla, has reopened his factory and restarted production despite the ban. Musk shows on Twitter that he is aware of the risks. If someone is arrested, I will ask if they only take me, he writes. The CEO was more likely to leave the state if he would be banned from starting production. Tesla in Fremont is Tesla's only US manufacturing facility.

The bottleneck is the submission of a safety plan. Alameda County states that the factory opening is impossible without an approved safety plan. That must now be submitted in the short term.
