Passengers on Eurostar and Thalys high-speed trains will start on Monday from 4 May must wear face masks. Both companies have decided that themselves in response to the directive that fits within measures that are in place in various countries against the corona virus. 

From Monday, passengers who do not wear a mask will be denied boarding the train or will be fined by the Belgian or French authorities. All catering on board the trains has been canceled and assistance to people who need assistance has also been suspended.

To follow the guidelines of the Belgian authorities, explains Thalys from 4 May wearing mouth masks (homemade, surgical or respiratory) on all travelers who board our trains. The trains run on the high-speed network between France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.

Thalys and Eurostar keep driving, but keep in mind that we have a limited timetable due to the tightened French border controls and less demand to travel. This limited timetable allows people to travel when absolutely necessary, even though fewer trains are running due to reduced demand.
