Production in the factory of the German luxury car manufacturer Audi in Vorst, where the all-electric e-tron is being built, will resume on Monday. That was confirmed to the Belga news agency by factory spokesman Peter D'Hoore. The car manufacturer made provisions for a restart of the factory in Brussels.

The factory has been shut down since mid-March due to the corona crisis. AudiBrussels has now prepared a package of measures to respond, among other things, to the rules on social distancing. Before the closure there was already unrest in the factory because the staff found it very difficult to respect the rules of social distancing during production.

“The health of our employees is a top priority for us. We are committed to protecting them with responsible decisions and consistent action in all areas. Our employees are supposed to feel safe in their workplace, ”says Volker Germann, CEO of Audi Brussels.

Audi will work with two teams on Monday, production will not be restarted at 100 percent. The entire staff will therefore not be needed yet. A number of work stations are also organized differently to ensure the safety of workers during corona times.
