Companies that do not have to close but suffer at least a 60 percent loss of turnover due to the corona crisis, receive a one-off compensation premium of 3.000 euros. The new premium is intended, among other things, for plumbers, dentists, physiotherapists, caterers, rental companies, painters or small delicatessens. When taxi companies meet the conditions, they can also apply for the compensation premium.

The condition is that the loss of turnover between March 14 and April 30 is at least 60 percent lower than in the same period last year. For starters, there should be a 60 percent drop from the financial plan. The Flemish government presented the new support measures in the context of the corona crisis in a press conference.

a declaration of honor is sufficient

Minister of Work Hilde Crevits (CD&V) added that it concerns revenue losses that are greater than 60 percent. For example, it concerns rental companies, caterers and medical professions such as physiotherapists. This turnover must be demonstrated on a declaration of honor in comparison with the turnover of the year before and for starters in relation to the financial plan.

The premium also applies to those who work as a secondary occupation and pay social security contributions, such as someone with a main occupation. Those who do not pay this amount to a premium of 1.500 euros for employment of less than 80 percent.

A striking detail is that the day before, Wallonia decided to grant an obstacle premium of € 5000 to the taxi sector, but this only applies if the company is completely closed or has been shut down due to the corona crisis.
