Experience in China has taught us that it takes about three months for the virus to be contained and the number of infections to decrease. Budget flyer Ryanair late via Twitter know that they will no longer be able to carry out passenger flights until June, due to the coronavirus.

Irish prize fighter Ryanair, which also flies from Maastricht Aachen Airport, announced more than a week ago that it would cut 80 percent of its flights and that after Tuesday 24 March there will be almost no flights left.

The Dutch airline Transavia also stopped flying earlier and now leaves all aircraft on the ground due to the corona crisis, at least April 5. Only the repatriation flights continue.

Other airlines have also had to keep aircraft on the ground in recent weeks. For example, last week KLM cut to 90 percent of the total flight capacity and the German Lufthansa is currently only doing 5 percent of the number of flights.
