In response to the questions asked by MPs Ploumen (PvdA) and Kerstens (PvdA) about disruptive patient transport in Overijssel, the Minister for Medical Care and Sports Bruno Bruins shares the opinion that people should not be the victim of the problems.

Zilveren Kruis and Eno also share this view and regret the fact that for a number of insured persons there was still discomfort during the transition of healthcare transport at the start of the new year. To limit this as much as possible, they have taken measures together with patient transport service ZCN to help everyone as quickly and effectively as possible. For example, ZCN has opened additional telephone lines to minimize waiting times on the telephone and policyholders and healthcare providers have been actively informed about alternative ways to book a taxi ride.

In addition, Zilveren Kruis immediately informed policyholders about the available channels to quickly book a trip to a healthcare provider and sent a letter explaining the situation and offering solutions to all its policyholders who use seated healthcare transport. A large number of hospitals and dialysis centers have also been personally informed about the situation and the options for booking a ride in an alternative manner.

Zilveren Kruis has also offered policyholders the option of using non-contracted taxi transporters. Insured persons who have arranged alternative taxi transport themselves will receive the same compensation for this as with a contracted taxi transporter. Eno indicated that a number of its policyholders had problems with regard to authorizations. In response, Eno and ZCN have decided to simplify the authorization procedure. Eno also had contact every other day with the Kidney Patient Association Solidair.

Bruno Bruins states that he has had regular contact with the health insurers about their analysis of the problems and the actions they have taken to resolve them as quickly as possible. For example, in addition to ZCN's customer contact lines, Zilveren Kruis has listed the telephone number of the so-called 'Transport line' on its website. Insured persons who need seated care transport can call this telephone line. Zilveren Kruis and ZCN will then jointly ensure that they are helped immediately. Eno has reported that it no longer receives signals about the inadequacy of ZCN's telephone service.
