If you live in and around the center of Ghent, it is best to come on foot: no hassle to find a parking space. If you are not very agile, you can also use the free Wandelbus. During winter in the city center, the Hiking bus every day of the week, exceptionally also on Sundays. The Wandelbus runs every day from 11 am to 23 pm, approximately every XNUMX minutes.

You go to winter in Ghent quickly and cheaply by bike

In the bicycle parking Korenmarkt under the Sint-Michielsbrug there is room for 210 bicycles. The Braunplein bicycle parking facility under the city hall offers space for 80 bicycles. Please note that dangerously parked bicycles will be removed for safety reasons.

With public transport 

The Ghent-Dampoort train station is within walking distance of the center. De Lijn also has an excellent reputation product range to take you to the center of Ghent. During winter in the city, all normal tickets apply, such as season tickets or a Lijnkaart. The night network also makes winter in Ghent easily accessible.

With the motorcycle 

Those who come to winter in the city center by motorcycle will find a parking space at the following places: Near Sint-Jacobs, Kammerstraat and Drabstraat
Car + public transport: Park your car on a free park-and-ride (P + R) and continue by tram or bus to the city center. Bicycle sheds are provided on every park and ride.

By car

The parking garages in Ghent are accessible. When entering Ghent, look at the traffic guidance signs in which car park there is still room and how you get there.

Taxis

Taxi stands are provided at the following locations, among others:
Drabstraat, Near Sint-Jacobs, Vlasmarkt. The taxi places in the Pakhuisstraat are not available. These will be moved to Sint-Michielsplein.

Parking spaces reserved for people

There are several near the center parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities. With a card for people with disabilities you can park above ground for free, except on reserved residents' places. Underground there are paying reserved places.
