Perhaps Mink's most striking statement was that working from data in other sectors works well, but for some reason within mobility laborious process. Program manager MaaS at Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment Eric Mink came last Thursday to inform the meeting of the MaaS Lab in The Hague about the status of the seven national MaaS pilots.

Geert Kloppenburg was also in recently conversation with Eric Mink what we recommend to listen to. MaaS may be the solution for everything, but a subject on which there are many opinions and about which there is still very little knowledge.

“In the pub I always say plan, book, travel and pay with an app that should completely unburden you. It no longer matters whether you have your own car or prefer to use public transport. You can go on the most comfortable journey for you without interruptions ”, says Mink.

Mink emphasizes that the Ministry does consult people and talk to parties, but they nevertheless think up a lot of things autonomously and do a lot of extrapolation of policy. With MaaS this is different and it is more about creating a new environment of which people do not know in advance what the outcome will be. It is entrepreneurial civil servant but it is necessary. The quest is how you can achieve a win-win for the traveler, for all carriers and for Maas service providers.

“If Mobility as Service is only optimized on business cases, then we will soon have a real problem,” says Eric Mink program manager MaaS at Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment.

The pilots will last approximately 2 to 3 years and we will monitor developments continuously. It is also important that knowledge is exchanged between the various MaaS pilots, so that we can learn from each other as much as possible and gain insight into the effects.

Eindhoven wants to become a CO2 neutral city. To this end, all business mobility movements of the 2000 employees of the municipality of Eindhoven will become sustainable and emission-free. The objective of the MaaS pilot Amsterdam Zuidas is to structurally improve the accessibility of the Zuidas by realizing a business MaaS service because it can form a serious alternative to the car and offers travelers flexibility.

Residents of Leidsche Rijn, Vleuten and De Meern tempt alternative transport options to reduce the amount of cars and congestion. In the Twente region, regular public transport is retreating and people who are capable of doing so want to travel independently as much as possible. Moreover, there is a need to innovate transport and give space to small-scale local initiatives.

Improving the accessibility of the Drenthe and Groningen countryside and the affordability of the transport system is on the agenda in the north. The RDH + A pilot is a national pilot aimed at the development of MaaS for all travelers and all possible means of transport in the Rotterdam - The Hague region (including Airport). Limburg is committed to sustainable mobility by offering multimodal, cross-border door-to-door transport solutions.
