The Minister for Persons with Disabilities is deploying 34 additional staff members at the Directorate-General for Persons with Disabilities and is investing 11 million euros to replace the old IT systems there. She said that in “The inspector”On Radio 2, where several people testified that their application for a disability card went completely wrong. 

“It's a matter of weeks, not months. We have our backs to the wall ”, says Nathalie Muylle (CD&V).

There was the story of the terminally ill Lucien and his wife who have been waiting for a disability card for four months. At “De inspeur” on Radio 2, he and his wife testify about their application for a disabled card. “We submitted our application in July. We made a call to the FPS Social Affairs, but we couldn't get in there. 

It has been waiting for the disabled card for four months, and nothing has been done. In time, we will no longer need the card, because then we will no longer be able to go outside, ”says Marleen, Lucien's wife. 

“It's a case of weeks, not even months. We are back to the wall. You no longer have any prospects, you no longer have to buy a car, you no longer have to travel. ”
