In Blaricum, at the bus station of Tergooi hospital, the new shared bicycle parking facility with 23 electric shared bicycles was officially opened on 12 October by Mayor Joan de Zwart of Blaricum and Alderman Jan-Jaap de Kloet van Wijdemeren. By offering shared bicycles, the accessibility of sights in the Gooi & Vecht region is greatly improved.

The shared bikes are available for anyone who wants to easily visit a destination in Laren, Blaricum, Huizen, Bussum or elsewhere in the region. The e-bikes are mainly intended for (international) visitors and recreationists, but commuters are also encouraged to use this sustainable means of transport.

Network of rental locations

The electric bicycle sharing facility in Blaricum is part of a number of bicycle sharing facilities located in the region Throw & Fight is realized by the cooperating regional municipalities and Tourism Gooi & Vecht. Electric shared bicycles have been available for rent at the P + R in Muiden since 2017. The aim is to create a dense network of rental locations, so that in the future the bicycles can also be returned to a location other than the starting location.

Use case

An account can be created via the Urbee Go app, with which the shared bicycles can be rented and unlocked. An explanation of the use can be found at the parking facility. Amsterdam also uses the Urbee e-bike system. With an Urbee e-bike you travel sustainably, affordably and efficiently from door-to-door.

No high parking costs and no more stuck in traffic. When, after use, the shared bike is stored in the fixed 'docking station' again, it is automatically charged for the next use. For beautiful cycling routes in Gooi & Vecht you can go to routesingooivecht.nl. There is also a handy bicycle junction map available in the webshop of VVV Gooi & Vecht, with which you can easily plan your own routes through the region.

Financiering

This project was made possible in part by co-financing from the 'Product Budget for International Visitors to the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area' of amsterdam & partners for the 'Discover Castles & Gardens of Amsterdam by bike' project.
