The State Secretary of Finance Menno Snel has answered parliamentary questions about the message that there is no deal between the Tax and Customs Administration and Uber about a deduction that was made by members Bruins (ChristenUnie) and Omtzigt (CDA) today in a letter.

When asked whether the State Secretary or the Tax and Customs Administration communicated with the press in any way (directly or indirectly) about the existence or otherwise of a ruling with Uber, the following was formulated.

Pursuant to Article 67 of the General State Tax Act, it is not permitted to disclose information about the tax position of an individual taxpayer. This also includes whether or not a ruling has been agreed between the tax authorities and an individual taxpayer.

The State Secretary says he has no reason to believe that the tax confidentiality obligation has been violated.
