Car company Daimler has been ordered by the German Ministry of Transport to recall 60.000 Mercedes-Benz diesel cars. The action follows reporting from the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, which writes that the vehicles are equipped with so-called cheating software.

The GLK 220 model, built between 2012 and 2015, is said to have software that indicates lower pollutant emissions than is actually the case. The German ministry has been investigating the Mercedes model since April and plans to expand that investigation now.

Daimler has already indicated that he will appeal.
